EXPANSION JOINTS, RUBBER EXPANSION BELLOWS |
|
|
| |
|
| Ami Polymer Pvt.Ltd. is pioneer
in Rubber Expansion Bellows. Ami's Rubber
Expansion Bellows are designed to take care of reactional
forces like Thermal Expansion, Contraction, vibrationsetc, which otherwise
break pipelines. These Rubber Expansion Joints are
made up of Neoprene, EPDM, Silicone, Viton and also in Natural Rubber
etc, Ami's Rubber Expansion Bellows are reinforced
with specially treated Nylon, Rayon,Glass Fiber, Fiber, Steel Cord
etc, by taking care of the designing for perfect balance between movements
of Axial, Radial, Torsion and Angular and pressure bearing capacity.
Ami's Rubber Expansion Bellows are available in sizes ranging from
1" NB to 72" NB with hydro testing upto 24-bar pressure. These bellows
are either integrated flange (metallic flanges are bonded with rubber)
or split back-up flanges, and are made strictly as per the customer's
design, drawing and specification. |
| |
| Ami's Expansion Joints
are designed to alleviate stresses caused by thermal expansion and
contraction in piping systems, noise and vibration. Their flexibility
permits connecting misaligned piping resulting from worn parts, foundat-
ions settling and operation of system and mechanical equipment. Ami's
Expansion Joints offer many user benefits over conventional
metal connectors. They are non-corrosive, do not require gaskets,
will not fatigue, requires small space, permit axial, lateral and
angular movement, shock resistant, do not become brittle and eliminate
electrolytic action. |
|
|
| Axial compression : |
Reduction of face-to-face dimension
Measured along the axis. |
| Axial elongation : |
Increase of face-to-face dimension Measured
along the axis. |
| Transverse or lateral : |
The movement of the joint Perpendicular
to the axis. |
|
|
|
| |
| Ami's Expansion Joints are made
in different types, such as Standard Single, Multiple Arch,
Light Weight type and others suitable for special application.
The construction of the Expansion Joints consist of a tube,
body or carcass and a cover. |
| |
| |
| TUBE
- |
|
The Tube
is a protective, leak proof lining of Natural or Synthetic
Rubber. |
|
| |
| BODY
: |
|
The
body consists of Fabric and various Rubber Compounds reinforced
with steelrings for strength. High quality synthetic fabric
is used for standard joints for temperatures range upto
80 o C For temperature beyond 80 o C and upto 120 o C
subjected to Pressure and / or Vacuum, Butyl Rubber with
synthetic fabric is used in the construction of Expansion
Joints. |
| |
|
| |
| COVER
: |
|
The
cover is formed from Natural or Synthetic Rubber selected
to suit service conditions. A special Hypalon paint is
used to coat the cover for protection against occasional
contact with oil and to resist weathering, ozone and corrosive
fumes |
|
| |
| FLANGES
- |
|
Ami's
Expansion Joint flanges are made of Rubber
construction to resist stresses and to form a tight seal
with companion pipe without need for gaskets. Flanges
are normally full-face with 150 # ANSI standard drilling.
Also can make with 250 # ANSI or to Party's specifications.
Ami's Expansion Joint arches may be filled with a soft-rubber
filler to prevent settling of solids from solutions being
conveyed. (if filled, all movements are reduced by 50
percent). |
| |
|
| |
| MATERIALS
- |
|
Ami's
Expansion Joints are available in Natural
Rubber, Chloroprene, Hypalon and Nitrile for temperatures
up to 80 o C. Also available in Butyl for temperatures
up to120 o C. |
|
| |
| Ami's Expansion Joints
are manufactured with Cotton / Nylon fabrics and G.I./S.S. Wire.
Galvanized split steel retaining rings should be installed on
all Ami's Expansion Joints. These are placed
directly against the inside of the flange to prevent damage
to the rubber surface when bolts are tightened and also to provide
equal distribution of bolting stresses. They are split in 2
or 4 sections - depending on joint size - and are drilled to
match rubber flange holes. |
|
|
| |
| Ami's Control units consist of two
or more control rod assemblies extending from flange toflange
of the Expansion Joint to minimize possible damage to the Expansion
Joint caused by excessive movement of the pipeline. The control
units are set at the maximum allowable expansion of the joint
and will absorb the static pressure thrust developed at the
Expansion Joint. Over - Compression of the expansion joints
can be controlled by installing rubber pipe sleeves over the
tie rods. The length of the pipe sleeve is such that the Expansion
Joint cannot be compressed beyond maximum allowable compression
stated in chart (Page). |
|
|
| |
| It is absolutely necessary that
rigid metal pipe on both ends of the connector be properly anchored
to eliminate the danger of excessive elongation. Anchors should
be provided at: 1. Change in pipe size 2. A branching of pipe
3. A change of pipe direction 4. The end of a pipe run An expansion
joint should never be used to support the piping. |

STANDARD
- |
Single arch for
use where initial misalignment of two pipes to be connected
does not exceed 1/8" but not where flanges are out
of paral. Available for pressure vacuum. Arch can be filled,
however, movement limitations are reduced 50% |
|
| |
MULTIPLE
ARCHES - |
Standard joint
with 2 or 3 arches. Recommended for greater movement where
face-to-face dimensions are not limited. Suitable
for pressure or vacuum applications with flanges or sleeve
ends. |
|
| |
LIGHT
WEIGHT - |
Recommended
for handling air, liquid, gases and fumes at 7.5 (15"
vacuum absolute) to 15 psi. Available with multiple arches,
filled arches and sleeve ends. |
|
| |
|
|
| Use of split-steel rings assure a pressure-tight
seal. Outside diameter is same as standard flange and contains
the same number of boltholes. Those used on joint sizes up to
40" are two-piece (4 segments per joint). Four-piece rings
(8 segments per joint) are used on all larger sizes. All are
generally 3/8" thick. |

AMI
POLYMER'S EXPANSION JOINTS (STANDARD) |
|
| |
| Single arch suitable for pressure, vacuum and
pressure / vacuum services at temperatures to80°C. Special
construction for 80°C - 120°C services is available.
A seamless leak proofliner extending through bore to outside
flange edges eliminates the possibility of service materials
penetratingcarcass and weakening fabric. Expansion joints are
available to any required - specifications. |
|
AMI POLYMER'S
EXPANSION JOINTS (MULTIPLE) |
|
| |
| These Expansion Joints are made with two or more
arches for use where desired movement exceeds single arch joint
capability. The Construction characteristics and materials are
the same as that of single arch joints and service ratings are
identical. Limits of movement are determined by multiplying
single arch movement by number of arches. Minimum face-to-face
dimension is dependent upon number of arches. When installed
horizontally, a maximum off our (4) arches is recommended. |
